Party Time! Maddex was invited to the Annual NICU Party (for all the babies that were in the Intensive Care Unit). It was so nice to be able to talk with the doctors that took care of him and most of all show our appreciation. We also saw a few parents we recognized- it was fun to see their babies and the progress they've made. Maddex was the minority- there were so many twins and triplets... crazy. It was such a fun little party - they had a ton of characters there for the kids to meet, a bouncing machine, and lots of treats- kettle corn, snow cones, cotton candy, and cupcakes- all for free!
Maddex loves Elmo- but wasn't too thrilled by this one-
group photo... everybody started to walk away as tanner
was getting the camera out- :)
one fun day!
to my Maddex: today i was full of emotions- happy and sad. being at your NICU party- it was hard not to remember all that we went through when you were born. in the mix of all the fun, i kept getting a visual imagine of you laying on your hospital bed with tubes and wires all over you. i remembered crying for hours when we were told you wouldn't be coming home with us. i remembered kissing you goodnight before i left you for the first time. i remembered your dad and i sitting beside you for hours, waiting for you to wake up and look at us. i remembered how you would hold onto my finger. i remembered your nurses, especially Caroline. i remembered how upset it made me that someone else got to feed you in the night. i remembered walking into the hospital every morning being so excited to see you. i remembered the day we brought you home and how excited and scared we were. i looked at you while at the party and i was overwhelmed with happiness- because i remembered when i looked at you in the NICU and thought- are you ever going to get better? you are such a healthy little boy- i couldn't be more grateful!

It has been so good to see little Maddex as he has grown - such a cutie pie! You'd never know that he had struggles at birth. So, thanks to awesome doctors and nurses, but ESpecially thanks to the love of the wonderful parents (and grandparents) that he has! He's one lucky little boy!
Ok first of all I have to say that you are such a sweet mom...your little letter to Maddex almost made me cry. And second...that mr. incredibles guy is frightening along with the huge semi-deflated orange thing! p.s. Maddex's shoes are sooo cute!
First of all, Maddex's hair is beyond cool. Love it. Second, the note dedicated to Maddex at the bottom was so heartfelt. You're such a great mom.
What would we do without our Maddex! We love him so much too and thanks for sharing. Thanks for letting us babysit (finally) so you could go out with your honey. We'll take him any chance we get. I love
