Maddex Grant Peterson

So proud to announce our new little baby boy- Maddex Grant Peterson. He was born on June 24th at 12:44 pm. He came out weighing 8 pds. 2 oz. and 22.5 in. - aka- A Big Boy! Believe me- I dont know how I did it. After a very long 2 weeks he is now home and loving life. I would have written this a lot sooner- but I hate to ever put him down... we are making up for the time we didnt get to hold him before. He is doing well- it is a little bit of a struggle with the reflux issues to always keep him elevated... but we are starting to figure it all out. Through everything he has been such a trooper- Since he has been home I've only heard him cry about 2 or 3 times (mostly bath time or gas)- he just makes a really sad face. He is such a cutie- I am very suprised at how much he is actually awake during the day- he just starres at us...( I am always wondering what he is thinking). I have to admit though my favorite thing so far about motherhood is feeding him... I am unable to breastfeed him right now (Im pumping :)- Dr.'s orders (he has to have rice cereal in his breast-milk) but I love holding him close and singing to him while feeding him his bottle. He is already daddy's best friend... and twin. Tanner is so good with him- I didnt doubt that he wouldn't be- but he has impressed me so much. He is always willing to help out- never complaining at all. I just love my two boys... I'm so grateful for the both of them.
-Just an update on Maddex- When we went to pediatrician the other day he weighed in at 9 pds. 2 oz. - He isnt having a problem packing the weight! Yesterday we went to see the Neuro. specialist and he increased his dose of phenobarbitol... he has still been having some "movements" (not yet knowing if it is even seizures-trying to be optimistic :) and is going to be doing another EEG while he is sleeping since that is when he has them (to check the brain for electrical activity). We will be seeing his gastro. specialist next week - along with 2 other doctors... so we will keep you posted! Also- Thanks so much for all the prayers and fasting- they truely are making a difference!

Just in time for 4th of July Fireworks!!

Chillen with Grandma and G-pa

Maddex has to sleep on an incline because of his reflux.

We brought Maddex home on Friday night so we put him right in his nightgown.. So on Saturday morning Tanner wanted to take him up and dress him.. when he came down- this is what he was wearing! We laughed so hard- I almost peed my pants. :)

Just relaxing in his swing... he is a little too small for it still.

Mommy and Maddex- I just love my little buddy!

Maddex is the best baby- he is always wide awake (well- not always but a lot) and just chillen.

Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks!

Congrats! He is such a doll! I'm so sorry you had to go through the whole NICU thing... it is so stressful and not fun. You do feel like you lost time and just have to hold your baby to make up for it. Hopefully all his issues get worked out and things get better. Have fun with him. This is such a fun time for you guys! Yea!

This is such a great post. He is so adorable and I'm glad that he is such a good baby for you. It must be a relief after being in the hospital so long. I hope that all of his upcoming doctors visits go well. Congrats!!! Keep the pictures coming.
